CHARACTER
Name: Scott McCall
Canon: Teen Wolf
Age: 16
Timeline: End of S2

Personality: Scott McCall is the hero of his story, but being a hero is never easy. A quiet, less-than-social kid, Scott starts the series as an asthmatic pariah regarded as a huge nerd (though not about grades) even by his best friend. Nevertheless, he's a bit of a boyscout. A few years without his dad has done nothing to turn him into anything less than the average highschooler-- if you don't count his furry little problem.

Scott McCall is a werewolf, and most of the time, he doesn't like it. Much like a Miles-Morales-Spider-Man situation, by the end of Season two, he respects the power and does what he feels is right with it. This, of course, does not mean he has never felt as though it has ruined his entire life. Sometimes these feelings are childish and unfounded, but other times, they're all too real; especially when his mother was put in danger because of him.
His sense of duty drove him to use his powers to help his friends and people he barely knew or trusted. Liberal in his platonic love and romantic in the way only a cheesy Teen Drama can make, Scott never seems to be alone when he's at his best. With his friends around to support him- or alternatively, with the fate of his friends in his hands- Scott can be a real hero. Alone, however, he can start to sulk and get into bad situations. While he's definitely a bit of an introvert, he performs better with his friends at his side.

It makes sense, then, that the anchor to his humanity when the full moon hits is usually the love of his 16-year-old life: Allison Argent, the daughter of the hunters trying to kill him and the rest of the wolves. Women like Allison, Lydia Martin, and Mrs. McCall play a strong role in Scott's life, too; Scott will do just about anything Lydia tells him to when he isn't mad at her, and will do anything in his power to be with Allison. For his mother, Scott takes a bullet and still attempts to keep his being a werewolf a secret from her to keep her safe. When his mother is seen crying over a second romance gone wrong, Scott is morose; when his mother tells him to do anything he can do to help his friends after learning his secret, Scott seems energised. Though his father is absent, he seems to be doing just fine with his mother's guidance.

Though dealing with being a werewolf was tough for Scott (even with the much appreciated boost to his lacrosse skills), Scott seems to always be a ray of sunshine. Like a puppy, Scott almost always has a smile on his face and is easily amused and entertained. He laughs at his best friend Stiles's jokes… even when he doesn't always get them. Stiles is more than just a best friend to Scott, however; one could consider them brothers. They come as a package deal, and many characters remark about this (albeit exasperatedly) during the series. Though they don't share Scott's 'fuzzy little problem', these two are rarely seen getting into trouble without getting in it together. Scott would be lost without him in more than one way; while he always tries to do the right thing, he even admits in canon that he never has any idea what he's doing. This is where Scott and Stiles complement each other the most; Scott keeps Stiles in check, and Stiles does the same for him.

One of the easiest ways to get Scott angry is to screw with his friends. Even though at times dealing with his anger makes Scott seem like a giant two-year-old, other times, he means serious business. It can be as simple as turning cold against the girl who constantly rejects his best friend, or throwing himself head-first into physical altercations with those who try to harm the innocent. His concern and need for other people to be around is proof that even without wolf powers, Scott is meant to work in a 'pack'.

Scott may be pretty average in school and definitely isn't the most street-smart guy, but he has a heart of gold. Unfortunately for anyone who gets to hear him, however, he often seems to think yelling is the best way to get people to understand his points or for he himself to understand his points. He's got a temper to combat his hero's disposition, and can be whiny and almost infantile. He can be slow on the uptake and has a habit of having a one-track mind. All in all, Scott's biggest fault adds up to one thing: no matter what he goes through or accomplishes, he's still a teenager. He's just a kid, and it shows.

Redeeming his immaturity, however, is his ability to assume the best of people. When Derek first arrives in town, he is reluctant to accept Stiles's allegations that Derek might be a murderer. When Allison confides that she's 17 but still a sophomore, Scott correctly assumes that it's Allison's constant moving around that caused her to be held back a grade. Even when Jackson and Lydia-- who aren't very much friends with Scott at the time-- are both accused of being the serpentine Kamina, Scott holds to their innocence. Though he isn't always right about his assumptions, Scott believes in people and that they'll do the right thing just as much as he wishes to.

Last but not least, there is of course the magical girl anime almost fairy-tale crowning aspect of Scott's status as a 'true alpha'. Most alphas in the series obtain their alpha status by manner of killing or taking the status of another alpha. True Alphas, however, have the distinct ability to become an alpha by strength of character. They only happen once in one-hundred years (further defining Scott's existence as an actual mahou shoujo), and exist whether the wolf takes the alpha status or not. This means, while Scott has not reached alpha status at his current point, he has the potential to become an alpha in the city prior to canon-updating.

Background: Scott on the Wiki

Abilities: In canon, Scott is a non-traditional werewolf. He has claws, fangs, accelerated speed, enhanced agility, and other abilities associated with wolves. However, he has not gained the ability to do anything more than a partial-shift.
He has gold eyes while his powers are in effect, and he has the ability to howl to communicate with other werewolves. Because he's become more used to being a werewolf, he has less trouble holding back on full moons. One of his most valued abilities is the ability to heal his own wounds as well as to share the pain of others-- not healing, but pacifying.

However, being a werewolf also means he is weak against the things that all werewolves are, the most important being mountain ash and wolfsbane.

First Person: Returning to D_M

Third Person:

Ruby City was downright weird. Scott had no trouble admitting that and even vocalised it loudly. Repeatedly. To many different and unwilling audiences. On the other hand, however, it was kind of interesting, and he couldn't very well deny that. With people from worlds he'd never heard of and with powers he hadn't even seen in video games, the city was almost like a puzzle.

Which was why, in the end, it was too bad puzzles were more Stiles's thing.

Out of everyone he'd left behind at home, Stiles was the one he missed most. Going out and finding people to talk to? That was all Stiles's deal. Without his best friend, Scott was a little lost.

Of course, Stiles wouldn't have stood for all this sulking and hanging around the room Scott was doing, and Scott knew this very well. It was probably why by the end of the week, Scott found himself standing outside the Black Stallion Saloon, near pacing. He'd have to go inside. He couldn't back out.

After a few moments of indecision, Scott rolled his eyes with his entire head, mouth slightly ajar as usual, and swallowed his stubbornness. Pulling open the door he took a few strides in and picked an occupied table.

With trademark shy-puppy smile, Scott sheepishly touched the edge of a free chair.

"Hey--" Crap. He cleared his throat and started again, trying to ignore the way his voice had nearly cracked. "Hey, I'm uh, Scott McCall. You don't mind if I, you know, sit with you, right?"
